Limo Driver Mobile App with Offline Support and GPS Tracking

A native mobile app for drivers built on Expo React Native — with offline-first architecture, biometric login, GPS tracking, and geofencing alerts.

The DrivOQ driver app is built with Expo React Native, giving drivers a native experience on both iOS and Android. Drivers see their scheduled trips, accept assignments, navigate to pickups, update their status, and submit trip completions — all from their phone.

The app is built offline-first: core functionality continues to work when connectivity drops, and data syncs automatically when the connection is restored. This is critical for drivers in tunnels, parking garages, or areas with weak signal. Biometric authentication (Face ID, fingerprint) replaces password entry after the first login, making it fast to get back into the app.

GPS tracking runs in the background during active trips, sending location updates to the DrivOQ server so dispatchers can see real-time positions on the dispatch map. Geofencing alerts notify drivers when they enter or exit designated service zones, and the system can automatically handle out-of-zone trips based on your configuration.

Frequently asked questions

Is the driver app available on both iOS and Android?

Yes. The app is built with Expo React Native and runs natively on both iOS and Android. Drivers download it from the App Store or Google Play.

What happens if a driver loses internet connection during a trip?

The app's offline-first design keeps core trip data available locally. Drivers can still view trip details and update statuses while offline. Location updates and status changes sync automatically once connectivity is restored.

How is driver GPS tracked?

The app sends GPS coordinates to the DrivOQ server at regular intervals during active trips. These updates appear in real time on the dispatcher's map view. Tracking runs in the background, so drivers do not need to keep the app in the foreground.
