Geofencing and Service Area Management for Limo Companies

Draw polygon or circle zones on a map to define your service areas, apply pricing multipliers per zone, and control which areas your drivers operate in.

DrivOQ's geofencing system lets you define the geographic areas your company services using an interactive map interface. Draw polygon zones with precise boundary tracing or place circle zones by specifying a center point and radius in miles. Each zone has a name, a hex color for visual identification, and an optional pricing multiplier that applies to all bookings within that zone.

Zones serve two purposes: as service boundaries (defining where you accept bookings) and as surge pricing triggers (applying dynamic price multipliers based on pickup location). Dispatch filtering uses zone membership to restrict driver assignments to zones they are authorized for, ensuring the right drivers handle trips in specialized areas.

In-app, email, and SMS alert toggles per zone let you configure notifications when drivers enter or exit a zone. Zone configuration is done by owners and admins, and changes take effect immediately for new booking pricing calculations and dispatch decisions.

Frequently asked questions

How does a pricing multiplier on a service area work?

When a booking's pickup address falls within a zone that has a pricing multiplier set, the calculated fare is multiplied by that value. A multiplier of 1.5 on an airport zone, for example, adds 50% to the base fare for airport pickups in that zone.

Can I have multiple overlapping zones?

Yes. Zones can overlap. When multiple zones apply to a single booking, the system uses the zone with the highest priority setting to determine which multiplier takes precedence.

Can drivers be restricted to specific service areas?

Yes. Using the driver zones configuration, you can assign drivers to specific service areas. The dispatch engine filters out drivers who are not assigned to the zone containing the booking's pickup location.
